Messenger on the Wind
An encounter with a buzzard, or indeed with any bird of prey, is not something to be dismissed lightly.
This creature represents the most Angelic messenger.
The timing of the message, is the message.
Maybe it’s about to be a long journey, then the appearance of the Buzzard can signal safe travel.
The Buzzard glides over and watches the scenery, moving with the wind.
When you get tuned into the display of nature, you’ll see the bird of prey as a guide.
Take note, did it come in from the left or the right… or was it on a top branch with its wings folded?
A Buzzard knows the scenery, and is always looking for a snake or a rat.
The appearance of a bird of prey can tell you that the path is clear, and also remind you to keep an Eagle eye.

The Buzzard: Perspective, timing and observation from above.
A bird of prey does not move through the landscape like everything beneath it. It rises above the immediate terrain, catches the current, and allows the movement of the air itself to carry it.
That is part of the symbolism.
When a Buzzard appears at an auspicious moment, the encounter can be read as an invitation to stop looking only at what is directly in front of you and see the wider landscape.
The timing of the message is the message.
Where were you going?
What were you thinking about?
What decision had just been made?
What question were you carrying?
The meaning is not necessarily contained in the bird alone. The meaning emerges from the relationship between the appearance, the moment, the direction and the observer.
- Buzzard Overhead — Rise above the immediate situation. See the whole landscape.
- Gliding on the Wind — Movement without unnecessary force. Work with the current.
- Appearing Before a Journey — A symbolic reminder to proceed attentively and trust the road ahead.
- Approaching from the Left or Right — Notice direction, timing and what was happening in the moment of appearance.
- Perched Above — Wait. Observe. Gather information before moving.
- Searching the Ground — Look beneath appearances. See what is moving that others may overlook.
- The Eagle Eye — Remain alert. The path may be open, but awareness remains essential.
The Buzzard does not need to fight the wind.
It reads it.
It does not need to see every individual step of the road.
It sees the terrain.
And perhaps that is the message carried by the bird of prey: rise high enough to see where you actually are before deciding where you are going next.
